I have 3 days to get from Rome to Urbino and then on to Bari to catch a ferry. Has anyone gone by train/bus to either or both of these places? I was able to find some train schedules but am having no luck with bus info. Is there a site with anything in English. My planning is tight and I need help. Am I trying to fit too much in?

Many years ago,we took a train from Rome to pesaro and then a bus to Urbino. Try doing a Google search on "adriabus" or "bus to Urbino". Google (or Bing, etc.) is your friend. We loved Urbino. Happy travels.

Re: Matera: It is wonderful, but it currently does not have a train station - it's a bus ride from Bari (several a day, different bus companies) and takes about 2 hours. One company is Marino Autolinee, www.marinobus.it or email [email protected] Urbino: The train is probably a regional connection from Pesaro. There is also a bus from Rome to Pesaro or Rome to Urbino autolineebucci.com (daily except Sunday).
