Trip Advice for March

Looking for feedback/suggestions on this trip. Our dates aren't flexible, and we plan on saving Rome for a different trip. Visiting son who will be staying in Florence for a few months, so he wants plenty of time to see other places.
March 1- arrive in Pisa at noon. See sights, train to Florence
March 2- Florence
March 3- Florence, leave for Sienna late afternoon
March 4 &5 Sienna/Tuscany day trips (no car)
March 6- leave in AM for Venice
March 7 & 8 Venice
March 9- depart early AM

Thanks!

If you haven't booked tickets - it's always best to fly into Venice, not out of Venice. I'd start in Venice and depart from Florence. I also think Florence needs more time - I'd drop Pisa - it is so underwhelming.

Are you planning to book guided day trip tours of Tuscany? there are not many Tuscan towns that are easily accessible by train or bus from SIENA

Agree with above flying in to Venice is much easier than out of Venice unless your departure flight is past 11 am ish

We will look at switching the flights, haven't booked yet so appreciate that advice! We would either book guided tours or rent a car in Siena. Not decided on that yet.

If we stayed longer in Venice would a day trip to the dolomites be worth this time of year?

It's too early for the mountains in March. Many passes and lifts aren't open.
I agree, fly into beautiful Venice. Flying out of Venice for an early morning flight is a pain getting to the airport.
Have a great trip.

Venice needs at least three full days minimum. Save the Dolomites for another trip in the Spring or Fall - they are far and they need more time too. Less cities is more when it comes to Europe - savor and enJOY each area, don't rush it.

If you need a private guide for Venice or Florence, let me know.

We used WalkAboutFlorence for a day trip into Tuscany - we did Best of Tuscany - which takes you to Pisa, Siena, San G.

Def fly into Venice - it is very hard to fly out of due to such early flights and the Vaporetto can be so hard and CROWDED
