Trieste Italy

Hello, we are looking for info/recommendations on Trieste. We are going to Slovenia and Croatia next spring and are wondering if it’s worth spending a night or two in Trieste since it’s so close. We love all things Italian and Trieste looks like an interesting blend of cultures. Would love to hear any thoughts and advice! TIA

An enthusiastic vote for a visit to Miramare castle just outside Trieste. It was probably mentioned somewhere in the previous post.

Highly recommend Trieste. We spent several nights after a Croatian trip. Easy to take train to the castle. Nice town to walk around. Lots of small restaurants off the beaten path if you walk around and get away from the main area.

We spent five or so days in Trieste last year and enjoyed it. It's a nice blend of Slavic, Italian and Austrian. We took the ferry to Muggia one day and while there isn't a lot to see or do there, it's a pleasant ride and we had an excellent meal experience at a mom and pop shop on a back street that we still rave about.
