Has anyone visited Trieste?. Is it worth seeing?. We are considering it for 3 nights at the end of a 50 days trip.

Only if you want to end your vacation on a low note. It has a little Roman stuff, a couple of museums, one or two mediocre buildings, an unremarkable castle....... and a lot commercial/industrial port type stuff.
It's the kind of place you might want to spend an afternoon and a night if you were passing by/through. I would not go out of the way to go there. I stopped for a while once on he way into Yugoslavia -- whatever year that might have been. That was enough. I don't suspect too much has changed.
