I'm looking for recommendations on getting from the Trieste airport to the city center. We'll be flying in on a Friday, about mid-day. I've found some bus info online, as well as a couple car services that offer private transfers. If you have a recommendation for a car service you've used, it would be greatly appreciated.
Here is the airport website. In March, they inaugurated to new intermodal transport hub, connected to the airport by a moving walkway bridge. So you can also get trains from there to Trieste. The description is only in Italian, but use the translate function on your browser. It is pretty clear.

Trains are fairly frequent at rush hours. Takes 29 minutes to Trieste Centrale and costs 4.05 EUR.

Have you tried GoOpti? I used them from The Ljubljana airport.
Thank you both. I'll check into both of those options.
The train is nice because it's inexpensive, but we'd still want a taxi from Trieste Centrale to the hotel.
It starts to feel like a never-ending journey to reach that first hotel of the trip, jumping from plane to train, then to taxi.
After the long trip from FL, the "easy" way might win. Just coming off a long flight, it's so nice to just hop in a car that's waiting for you and already knows where you're going.
Check what your hotel recommends as well.
We took a public bus between Trieste and the airport. It was a pleasant ride and very inexpensive. There was no difficulty taking all our luggage.
