Trieste

We loved it. We were there for two days after spending several weeks in Croatia. Loved the castle that was easy to get to just outside of town. We were there July 30-August 1st this year.

Sounds like we would love it! Do u have recommendations for hotels, preferably on the coast? Also would we want to take Go opti from Ljubljana to Trieste, or is there a better option?

There's a train from Ljubljana-Trieste, which was quite lovely. No hotel recs from me -- I stayed at an Airbnb that was really only suitable for one person.

Are there any other recommendations for Hotels in Trieste! Thanks!

We stayed this past July at a small boutique hotel, The Forum. We found the staff very helpful and the room well appointed and comfortable. The hotel is not on the coast, but centrally located in the town. Easy walk to explore the town and find nightlife and dining.

I stayed at a very nice, very centrally located b&b called Residenza le 6A. If I remember correctly, the owners, operated a travel agency down the hall were happy to offer advice, maps, help, recommendations on things to see and do. I traveled to Trieste by ferry (at sunset) from Piran Slovenia. Piran could give you a relaxing coastal experience with easy travel from Ljubljana and/or Trieste.

We visited Trieste in 1990 and it was OK, but nothing to brag about.
