Flying into Venice from Germany and wondered if using the Treviso airport is worth the hour bus ride into Venice once there? The cost is the difference of 100 euros to fly into Treviso instead of Marco Polo. Has anyone done this?
It's really your choice. The bus ride from Marco Polo is 25 minutes to the same place so it's not a big difference. You can also ride the train with a change at Venezia-Mestre. Speaking of "worth", is it worth 100Euro to ride a bus for an extra 35 minutes? It's a really acceptable way to get to Venice.
If by Treviso you mean you will be using Ryanair just be aware that the €100 difference may lessen when you count all the additional fees and costs of "saving" money with them. If you carry on, don't eat, use their one fee free method of payment, sit apart, check in online, etc., you may save some of their fees.
Thank you for the great info.
We used the bus from Treviso to Venice, and it was super easy and well worth the cost savings...flew EasyJet
