I have seen the pictures of the restoration of the Trevi fountain. We will be visiting Rome on July 15 does anyone know if any part of the fountain will be turned back on? Glad they're maintaining it but very sad not to get to see it's full effect!
If you happen to be close to Trevi, go ahead and take a look. Do not go out of your way or plan time to see it. I was there last week. The Trevi fountain has been completely drained and there is scaffolding almost completely covering it. So, spend your travel time seeing other great sites in Rome. The fountains on Piazza Navona are lovely. Some people like Navona in evening. But, I preferred morning before 9 am. Less crowded and beautiful morning light. Have Fun!
Yes, we were there a couple weeks ago too and totally covered.

You can see what the fountain looks like, during any point in the renovation process, on this live cam:

It was very difficult to see anything while there (June 2014). So many people and so much construction, in very little space.....watch the live cam instead.
