Anyone know the difference between the Frecciarossa vs. Frecciabianca? Rome to Naples this would be for.
"rossa" means red, "bianca" means white
("freccia" means arrow)
pretty sure it is just the type/model of train and I think the "bianca" trains are older/slower
This is a very helpful site

Also see https://www.trenitalia.com/en/frecce.html for their own description. Yes, Fecciarossa is the newest and fastest, especially version 1000. But you also may see both types serving a route with very little difference in travel time.
LOL and there is it right on the home page!
Thanks all, I booked Rossa but no idea if it was 1000 just booked the times that worked for us. Done and done. I don't think I have to plan anything else (knocks on wood and runs)
They’re both nice, and second class seats are perfectly adequate.
No big difference, and 2nd class on these trains has been perfectly fine for us.
Frecciabianca are slower! Inside they're just as comfortable
