Trenord Train Web Tickets

We have been trying to buy roundtrip tickets for both the MXP Express and the regional train from Milan Central to Varenna Esino for our trip June 17th till June 22nd. The web site doesn’t show any tickets past June 10th on either one.

First I assumed that they were only 30days out on release dates, but I even tried for tickets just after the June 10th and still no luck.

Can anybody show some light on the matter or has had the same problem?

Thanks

There is the summer timetable change on June 11 and not all local schedules have been uploaded on the system.

These trains can't sell out (there are no reserved seats), don't have discounted tickets for advance purchases and the new schedules won't change that much.

Use a date before June 11 for planninng and then buy on-line on the 12th. You could check again on the first days of June, but there is no real reason to waste time.
The first buyer and the last one will get the same seats (if they can find a free seat) and will arrive at Varenna-Esino exactly at the same time.

You can easily buy both at the airport, either at a kiosk or ticket counter.
Remember to validate tickets before boarding. If buying online, the Varenna-Esino would be pre-validated BUT only good for the train chosen on the ticket.

slight correction about validity of regional train tickets. On-line Trenord tickets are valid for a specific time beyond the time you select, it depends on how far you are travelling.

From the Trenord site: "Validity: for 3 hours for up to 50 km, 6 hours for between 51 and 200 km, 24 hours for over 200 km from the date and time indicated on the ticket."

The same is true for paper tickets after validation.

Paper tickets not validated do not expire, this only for Trenord tickets. Trenitalia has different rules.
