We bought a round trip ticket from Milan to Varenna where we are staying several days. The ticket for 26 euros combine the train and ferry. How many ferry trips can I make on this ticket? Is it good for just one day? No boat checked the ticket except one guy punched it. I scanned it in Milan. No date printed on the ticket. Confusing.
Jerry, is this what you purchased?

If so, the info states:
"If purchased online on the Trenord.it website, it must be used on the day chosen during the purchase phase and does not require validation."
So how/where did you purchase it? In any case, it looks to me like it's only good for one day so you can't use it to go back to Milan on a different date than arrival day in Varenna. It looks like you can use it for more than one ferry trip but only on the date indicated at purchase or day of validation (meaning when it was punched). That said, you could contact Trenord and ask? The website has a chat feature.
We bought it at the Milan train station from a person and took the train on Saturday. We went on lake Como Sunday. We hope to use it tomorrow to go to Villa Carlotta by ferry and return to Milan by train on Tuesday. I don’t see any rules about its use, which was why I posted.
The cost leads me to believe it’s probably a 1 day use
RT train would be about 15 euros
One ferry ride about 10 euros I think
I assume if this was a great deal we would hear about it from others
I am inclined to think the same as Christine, Jerry. Due to the cost, it's likely a one-day ticket that I wouldn't count on being able to use again at this point... especially since someone has already punched (validated) it. Contact Trenord for the official word regarding usage.
