While reserving a train ticket on Trenitalia, it wanted me to register to become a Carta Freccia holder. If you hit the button that states "Go on without logging in", where you are not a registered member, it gives a warning, "for purchases without logging in, you will not receive an invoice". Should I register? Not sure what it all encounters or if it is more of a rewards (points) system for frequent travelers. I don't want to not register if it is important for any reason. I did not register for that ticket I bought and received the ticket through email but still have more train tickets to buy. Thanks you for any help given.

No need register and I think it is only for travelers who reside in either Italy or Europe. This question has come up before.

When I first bought our frecce tickets...I didn't register because it was a PITA creating an account for someone not a resident of Italy.
But after a few searches...I ended up figuring out how to create/register an account.
It was helpful buying tickets from their mobile app and getting the train schedule on your trips to see if they're running late or on-schedule.

Just register - you'll get notifications via email and the app (if you install it). You'll be able to log in and reprint your tickets if necessary. Just use your hotel's address for your account.

I have never registered and never had a problem and I buy multiple tickets and have done two trips this way. If I need to reprint the tickets I just go to my original email and reprint.

When purchasing rail tickets on ANY European rail site , it is always wise to register . There is no charge for doing so , and among many advantages , like avoiding various complications in the process , you can always bring up your tickets on the website , useful if you lose a ticket , or you have an uncooperative cellphone . I maintain registration on virtually every European state site , and Trainline as well . Things always go smoothly for me .

Definitely register with Trenitalia. If you register using the app, it is easier than using the website. You will need a Codice Fiscale to complete the registration. Here’s a link to a Codice Fiscale generator. This is not an official government supplied number but serves its purpose here. When entering place of birth, enter Stati Uniti for the USA.
