Trenitalia tix time change

Hello! We are currently in Florence and have used so much advice from this site. Can anyone answer this? I purchased train tix to La Spezia online for tomorrow. Train leaves at 8:28 from SMN station with a transfer to Pisa and then La Spezia. We would like to leave a little later. The ticket says there is a four hour window. Does that mean we can leave later? Thank you so much!!! Love Florence so much I don't want to go!!!

When I look at the Trenitalia site, it shows a Frecciabianca connecting train at Pisa. That is a train with seat reservations and you must make that train and no other. Unless you bought a purely Regional ticket for 13.80 EUR, you are locked in.

I guess you could use your ticket for a later train to Pisa, but then you would need to buy a new Regional ticket to La Spezia. That is another 7.80 EUR. The original tickets first leg is a Regionale, and travel must be completed within 4 hours. So if you take the 11:28 Regionale, you will be in Pisa by 12:25. There is a Regionale to La Spezia at 12:34.

The 4 hours rule means exactly what you wrote, but are you making both legs using only Regionale trains? Reading Sam's message It seems you'll take a Freccia-something train and a Regionale.

Does one of the pdf files mention a car and seat number? If so the answer depends on the kind of ticket you purchased for the Freccia train. Full price BASE tickets can be changed for free at the counter up to 1 hour after the departure of the booked train.

Thanks to those who replied so quickly! It looks like we are up and out early. No worries- more time to explore CT. Again, we couldn't have done it without this site. Grazie!
