Trenitalia tix problem

I’m putting the finishing touches on my Rome trip with the family and when I tried to purchase train tix to and from Florence on the 18th of May on the Trenitalia site it’s saying there is not enough tickets for my return time. When I go to pick my seats, there are tons of seating left. Has anyone run across this before?

Also on Loco2 I had the tix for 156 dollar but at checkout the go up to 313. Any ideas on this one? It’s all very frustrating.

How many passengers and what date (you said May 18 Rome to Florence) and times roundtrip?

It sounds like just the Florence to Rome part did not have enough seats

You must have picked a discounted "same day return fare", but the train you want for the return journey hasn't enough tickets left at that price. You can take another train back to Rome, or Switch to the SuperEconomy fare, if available, or make 2 separate purchases splitting the group in 2. Or just use italotreno.it/en.

Avoid re-sellers like loco2.

Thanks everyone. I think I will take the advice on italotreno. They have tix, prices look good, and the site is easy to navigate.
One other thing, I did use Loco2 for another trip and was satisfied with the service.
Thanks again.

One is always satisfied with re-sellers up to the moment something goes wrong on the ground and he needs help from Trenitalia's staff. At that point it all depends on their mood.
