I have been attempting to book train tickets on Trenitalia website. In order to have a receipt, I need to create an online account. When I attempt to do so, I cannot select USA as my country of birth - not in the drop down menu.
Do I just proceed to purchase without an account? Will I be able to print a receipt? Is there a better website to use that doesn't charge a big mark up?
Is it just me or is Trenitalia a rather user unfriendly website? Thanks for any tips!
You do not have to create an account to buy tickets, and you can have them sent to your email address anyway, but creating an account can help if you need to make a change or ask for a refund. Try selecting "Stati Uniti" which is Italian for the U.S.A.

Based on the large number of threads with people having similar questions and problems, it's not just you. Hang in there, and just try to roll with the punches.
You will receive your tickets via email (I like to print them out at home) within minutes of purchasing them. As stated previously, I think it's easier to retrieve information with an account.

If you have difficulties buying tickets on the Trenitalia website, you can also use www.italiarail.com as their system is linked to Trenitalia and they can provide the same tickets.
