I am trying to purchase tickets online from Orvieto to Rome Termini. A warning comes up that unless I register I will not get an invoice. Does this mean I won't get a receipt, be unable to print the tickets or both unless I register? Can I print the tickets if I don't register? Thank you !
Mary,
Are you using the Trenitalia website? You could also try purchasing tickets at Trainline.com, Loco2 or one of the other reseller websites (I normally use Trainline).
It means that you won't be able to deduct the cost of the ticket from your taxes or add it to your expense report.
An invoice is neither a ticket nor a receipt nor a print-at-home eticket, it's just an invoice.
I just purchased Trenitalia tickets (without registering/no invoice). After you purchase the ticket(s), you will receive an email with an attachment you can print to use as your ticket (will have the code they scan on the train).
Are you on https://www.trenitalia.com/ website? You should get tickets and receipt on your email as was stated above
No, Mary is right: on trenitalia.com when you check the "go on without register" button, a pop-up window warns that this way you won't receive an invoice.
Since an invoice is not a ticket or a receipt, but only a fiscal document there is nobody to worry about.
