I have purchased tickets from Trenitalia. I printed out the Summary which provides the PRN code. I also printed out the receipt which is titled Fiscal Document. Is the summary my tickets or do I have to do something further to get the actual tickets?
The PNR code is your ticket and you don't need to print it out. The train conductors won't even need to see the PNR as long as you are in the right seat and you can pronounce letters and numbers in Italian.
The fiscal document is for your boss, if you are travelling for work and you must submit an expense report. The need to print it depends on the way your accounts department manages such documents. For sure no conductor will check it.
What Dario said. But I find it easiest to have a printout of the summary available, and/or a picture of it on my device. Then you can just show it to the conductor, it will remind you of your seats #s, and also can be helpful to show to another passenger in case they are sitting in your seat by mistake. Enjoy your trip!
On the regional trains, they will want to see the QR code, whether on your phone, paper, or old fashioned ticket. Since Covid they have gone contactless, you hold the ticket, they scan with their tablet.
Thank you for the help, I will be sure to bring my summary.
