The strike starts at 9p.m and lasts for 24 hours. Options for travel to Florence and Venice can be found at Italotreno.it If traveling from Rome please note the station changes.
According to Trenitalia, trains run from 6-9 and 18-21:00( m-sa)so I am unsure of their plans for sunday.

Gerri, even during a strike, some trains will run. Note that Italotreno leaves from the Tiburtina station, not Termini.

Zoe, correct. The trains will run between 6 to 9 a.m. Then again between 18:00 and 21:00. Should have posted this for those folks who already have their tickets... Trenitalia.com-solutions-train strikes Italotreno trains run from both the Tiburtina and the Ostiense stations. If a solution is not found on one, try the other.
