We are an adult couple with a 6 year old daughter. We are trying to book sleeper overnight accomodations on the Trenitalia.com website.
We are looking to book the "Gran Classe Cabina A 2 - Intera"
I understand that "Intera" means "whole" so it means we're booking the entire room.
Unfortunately, it appears that there is no way to book 3 people (even though one is a child) in this "2-person" room.
Does anyone know if it is possible or HOW you might select the tickets on their website to make it possible?
ALSO - does anyone know what the "Gran Classe Cabina A" ACTUALLY is? Seat61.com doesn't note this "definition" of sleeper but I'm specifically looking for a "deluxe sleeper" that includes the wash basin and the shower.
Thanks,
Lori
Lori,
You might also try booking at www.capitainetrain.com as their website is very user friendly. The website will let you know if it's possible to book that connection. If you have trouble, send them an E-mail. I've found their customer service to be very responsive.
Were you trying to book the 20:57 departure from Venezia S. Lucia?
Only ever travelled in couchettes. But my understanding is that you can book a standard 3 bed cabin but the gran classe, with shower, are only singles or doubles.
Since the train in question is operated by the Austrian railway OEBB, I looked at their site. For July 28, the day I looked at, you can book a 3 person Deluxe Sleeping Compartment with shower and toilet for 312 euro.
www.oebb.at is a bit tricky to navigate. After you pick the train (EN 236) you must click on "passengers" and choose Family and show 2 adults and one child and enter birthdate. Then on "details" click on "Globalpreis" (not "Sparsheine"), then you will get the options for various sleeping compartments. Clicking on the "Englisn" button in the top right-hand corner and everything will be in English.
Thank you everyone for your help, especially you Sam! Tickets booked successfully!
