Trenitalia question

I am registered on the Trenitalia website and am navigating it pretty well for a reservation but a basic question: how do I get tickets for 2 people paid for with the same credit card without purchasing 1 and then going back onto the site for the second? Thanks

After you select a train and go to the next page, called "Fares and Preferences" , you will see a voice of fares. Above that, in smaller print, it will as how many tickets you want for adults, etc. Enter 2 there and it will assign you seats together and let you pay for both in one transaction.

Part of your confusion maybe is that one person can buy as many tickets as they need. Not necessary for each ticket to have a name as it is on Am airlines. Often the only one ticket is printed and it indicates that it is good for a fixed number of passengers. Not nearly as complicated as buying an airline ticket.
