A reminder for those travelling in Italy by train over the next few weeks (through December 11, 2010): don't forget to ask for the PROMO AUTUNNO promotional fare (second class seats only) if buying a ticket on any train (except the "regionale") for a long or medium distance trip: in many cases, you'll save money over the regular fares: 49 Euros on any AV (Frecciarossa or Frecciargento) train; 29 Euros on any other ES train (including the Frecciargento to/from Puglia, but excluding the ES-Fast to/from Calabria); or 19 Euros on any ES-City, IC, ICN or EXP train.
Two big restrictions: (1) must be purchased no later than midnight of the day beforehand; and (2) no changes or refunds allowed. Also, this fare is not combinable with any other reduction.
