Two years ago I purchased train tickets online for trenitalia. I see that it works differently now but was able to purchase some tickets. My concern is that the "etickets" that show up at the end of the transaction have the cp numbers but not the pnr. What do I need at the station to board the train, will the print out work or do I need to do something else. I haven't received any email from trenitalia.
I haven't bought tickets for this year yet, but last time I had a question I called their 800-number and got great info, quickly, in English.
Hi Kathryn. I have recently booked 3 separate tickets via the Trenitalia website and for all 3 bookings I received confirmation emails with an attachment that had the train details at the top and then immediately below that was the PNR (just above where the total amount paid is shown).
If you haven't received an email then check in your spam/junk mail folder and your promotions folder (if you use gmail).
Zoe, I can not find an 800 number. I checked call center, where did you find it?
The number to call if you are outside of Italy is +39.06.68475475.
mph: I haven't received an email and I've checked the spam folder. Also when I try to retrieve my info on the trenitalia site with the retrieval code I get a message in Italian about an email address but there is no where to input.

Are you trying here to retrieve your booking?
Apologies if my suggestion seemed obvious but sometimes people overlook spam folders :)
Forgot to say, make sure you have clicked on Retrieve my booking and that is in red, rather than being clicked on Manage your ticket.
MPH yes that is where I am trying to retrieve my info.
Hi Kathryn - I just plugged one of my bookings into the retrieval field and got the same message! No matter what I did in Internet Explorer I could not get it to work!!
I then tried using Firefox as my browser instead of Explorer. The same message came up in the pop up box. I clicked on OK on the pop up box that contained the message. I tried clicking enter again and this time there was a little box to click on and tick in the bottom of the pop up box. I did this and then it allowed me to get in!!
Are you using Internet Explorer? Have you got access to Firefox?
I deleted the bit about Chrome because i tried a second time to be sure it would again and it would not. However, I have tried with Firefox again and the above process worked again! If you dont have Firefox on your computer it is easy to download at: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/
It is a highly respected browser.
Any luck Kathryn?
