[Camogli to Milan to Switzerland] Trenitalia June tickets: purchase or wait?

Hi folks! This forum is such a terrific resource — you’re all so appreciated.

We are a family of 3 traveling to Italy and Switzerland from 19 June to 4 July (ages 49, 44, and 14) this summer. My husband and I have been to Europe before, but our son has not.

My question is about Trenitalia. We’re trying to get from Camogli, Italy, to Lugano, Switzerland on 29 June. We will have to split the journey: Trenitalia from Camogli to Milan, and Trenord on to Lugano.

I had my eye on an itinerary and have been awaiting our Cartafreccia (emailed in our paperwork 2 weeks ago today). We have enough train journeys that I was planning to amass X-Go points on my son’s tickets.

Now I’m kicking myself: the Together rate (Insieme) I was watching, €37,90, today shows Sold Out! There are now:
--> Basic for €52,50 (2nd class Easy, unlimited changes, refund with deduction)
--> Together for €56 (1st class Plus, no changes, no refunds)

Questions
1. Is there any chance the 2nd class Together at €37,90 will come “back in stock,” or is it totally gone? I was hoping I had a few more days ...
2. Should I keep waiting for the Cartafreccia to arrive since it’s just Basic tickets now?

Grazie mille!

Laura

Once the tickets in a certain price "bucket" have all sold out, they are gone. There won't be any more.

What are X-Go points?

Oh SHOOT. Thanks Kim, that's what I was afraid of. Any benefit or detriment to waiting to see if our Cartafreccia arrives at this point?

X-Go is Trenitalia's rewards program for Regional and Intercity/Intercity Night trains, which will be much of our travel.

The difference between supereconomy and base on the IC from Camoglio to Milano is only 6,10. Not something I would lose sleep over...
