Trenitalia HELP!!

I have been trying book our trains tickets on Trenitalia and have had nothing but problems with the website. I did the first leg of trip and got to the end (after CC info) and then nothing. Waiting for email to make sure that went ok! We are traveling in 2 weeks. Rome to Naples, Napels to Florence and then on to Venice. Do I need to do tickets before leaving? Can I wait until I get there? I did see the Rail Europe, but the cost is much more and would rather save the money. Thanks in advance!

I had a similar problem with Trenitalia a few weeks ago and called my credit card company and it turned out they had a 'hold' on the charge only because it was a foreign site. Once they cleared it, I was able to book with cc still on phone to ensure only was charged 1x, and it didn't freeze after cc entry page, as yours did.

Call your cc company to let them know you are trying to make the charge and to also let them know the dates and areas you'll be traveling to. This way they won't put a hold on your card while you're in Italy. You can buy all of your tickets when in Italy if you choose. The only reason to buy them before leaving is to take advantage of the lower fares. Donna

I'm having trouble too. Here's an email address to try (not sure if it works ... I wrote on Saturday and no reply yet). [email protected] Good luck!

Chris, did you register first with Trentalia? If so, you retrieve and print out your tickets by logging on, going to your account and purchased travel, then printing out what legs you have (should be a PDF file). It will print out with the PNR code and a symbol that looks like a scan code. That was all we needed for out travels this past 2 weeks. I had never gotten an email from Trentalia, but this print out was all I needed.
