Trenitalia from Varenna to Vernazza...

Quelling the panic... This is an edit of my previous post. I'm looking at tickets on June 10 from Varenna-Esino to Vernazza. Preferred time is 10:35 am, 4 hours 40 minutes. A few weeks ago there were 400 or so tickets available at about $40. Now website and app say all routes are sold out. You don't actually see this until you select a route and click on continue, and then it says no tickets. Surely this route hasn't sold out this far in advance! All advice appreciated.

I don't have the app, but the website is showing many options for many different combinations and travel times from 28 euro to 51 euro of the discounted rates.

I don't know what's going on. Trenitalia website says sold out or nothing less than $80/ticket. I could get from Varenna to Genoa with no problem and a cheap ticket. Surely these routes wouldn't sell out this far in advance.

ummm I don't know then? sorry? I just pulled up a ton of options. Make sure your time is right and the date is the one you want.

Maybe try on the website on your phone or your computer? (or the opposite of whichever method you are using)

If you are seeing fares in $$$ you are not looking at Trenitalia.

https://www.trenitalia.com/en.html

They are selling base fare tickets for the 10:35 am departure, with a total travel time of 4h 40min, for €41,40. That if for the regional train from Varenna-Elsinore to Milano Centrale, the IC665 from MC to Levanto, changing there to the Regionale to Vernazza. This is for Monday June 10. I am using my iPad with Safari to see this.

As of this writing, OP is correct - app indicates no tix and you are informed no tix available when you try to purchase on the website [Chrome on Android tablet].

This may be temporary - try later today and see what happens.

huh yeah, after clicking all the way through it shows that.....sorry for not investigating more...

Does this have to do with the schedule release? Have they JUST released it for the next dates? Maybe that's something?

If they were REALLY sold out, they wouldn't say anything about pricing or discount amounts or anything.....it would just be esaurito and nothing else....

Weirdly, I can book it to Monterosso without a problem. Maybe it's the Vernazza station that's having issues. Well if i can make it to Monterosso we can walk the rest of the way! Thank you all for muddling through this with me.
