Trenitalia from Florence to Venice

Jo ,could you be a bit more specific as to what you are doing ? I just checked and had no trouble finding discount tickets for May 25 . Where are you getting the $65 USD price ? for how many travelers ?

The cheap rates are limited in numbers and go fast. And the number vary by train. If you dont see the rate it is gone. .

When clicking on the Trenitalia site it takes me to the RailEurope page. I put in my dates and the message is that the dates are not available at this time.

Jo , you want to go to the TRENITALIA site not RAILEUROPE ! you are clicking on the first listing which IS raileurope . Scroll down a few , and you will see Trenitalia.it - that's what you want . Frank is right about the terms of sale , and while there are no 9EU fares available , there are 19EU fares available ( a worthwhile savings ) Remember , in general that on the internet for pretty much any search , the first results that are listed are actually paid listings by commercial entities . Always scroll down to find more direct answers for any search . try Trenitalia .it ,if you have any problem , yell !!

If it shows $65 you must be on RailEurope. Make sure you are on Trenitalia. You will have to spell cities in Italian (Firenze and Venezia) and it will show prices in Euros not dollars.

Like Jo, I am not very familiar with the Trenitalia website and trying to see what is available for round trip on May 1st (Florence to Venice) When I put my date in it comes back as NANANANA. What did I do wrong?

I think I'm doing a little better. I did get on the Trenitalia site, for May 25th the price was 38euro ($50.74) I didn't see anything cheaper, maybe the mainland in Venice? I haven't purchased yet but thanks for the help.

Jo, that 38 euros is for 2 tickets at 19 euros each. That is the price I see for most trains on May 25. apparently the 9 euro fare is gone but 19 isn't bad at all. Michelle, I don't know what you are doing wrong as I had no trouble finding fares for May 1 for Florence to Venice and back. it is 19 euros in each direction for most of the trains that day. Things to check: 1. Are you really on the Trenitalia website? 2. Did you spell the city names corerctly? 3. Did you fill in the correct date and time for each direction? It will offer several trains for each but you still have to put in a starting time. I used 9 am for the first leg and 17 (5 pm) for the return.

Just to add to Sasha's info , Keep in mind the stations are - Firenze SMN ( Santa Maria Novella ) and Venezia Santa Lucia .

Well I got to the site...great price 19euro...now can't complete purchase,I did fill in the names of the travelers etc, clicked credit card but at that point nothing comes up, I click complete and get the computer freeze. I'll keep trying later. Oh will I be printing my ticket??

Jo , My best guess as to the problem of not being able to conclude the purchase is - Did you register on the site ? Many people , having attempted a purchase without registering have run into problems like this . Register on Trenitalia , THEN and this is important , you will get a confirmation e-mail with a temporary password . You must then enter the site with it and change the temporary PW to a permanent one as per the instructions . It needs to be done quickly before the temporary one expires . You should be OK . Select the electronic or ticketless option and you will get an e-mail which will have a " PNR " code on it This is your ticket ! Going out for a while , Back later .

This is the last straw, you can tell I've been at this all day. I have everything filled out...I'm at the very end to confirm purchase and it pops up re enter name-WHERE??

Wow ! is there a box anywhere on the page to do that ? Were you able to enter your Credit Card info ? Did you mistakenly hit the part that says purchase without registering ? Don't let it get to you , we'll keep trying . Life can be a puzzle .
