Hi, I've see a similar post in a couple of place on here, but still don't quite understand what it means. I went to the trenitalia site to search for a Milan to Lyon train, the trip I would like to do shows "Attention. We are sorry, this travel solution cannot be purchased on this sales channel" when I click on it, but of course the one I would prefer to not get works fine. Does this just mean it will never be available? My one way trip is July 31st. Also, some of the sites like Rail Europe and Trainline offer senior rates, but it does not appear that is the case with Trenitalia, do you know if that is correct? Thanks for the help!
Let me add to my original post that I just got the CartaFRECCIA for the senior discount, but I don't know how to use it for the discount!
Which train did you want to book?
You should be able to book the direct Trenitalia trains on their site.
Yes, I was on the Trenitalia site. I wanted a train that leaves Milan at 8:10 and changes in Geneva then goes to Lyon, but then I get the error message I wrote in my original post.
My guess is that Trenitalia can't sell you the Geneva-Lyon part, try www.sbb.ch instead.
Sorry that you’re having issues. Did you download the app? It’s really useful. I just checked Milano-Lyon on July 31, and, while there were only two available for purchase, I went up to the point of purchase and had no issues whatsoever.
