im trying to book a train, specific date and time but website keeps telling me there was an error and to try again. ive tried for days, not sure exactly what is wrong. when searching i select main solutions
april 24th, 2023 - chiusi to roma termini - 1054am departure
the 1152am departure give me same error message.
any help or advice would be appreciated.

I tried that, plus a couple of other trips - looks like there’s some sort of glitch in the website. The 10:54 you’re aiming for is a Regionale, so you don’t need to reserve it.
So are you still having difficulty?
My Trenitalia test for Chiusi-Chianciano Terme> Roma Termini, April 24 (24/4/2023) does turn up a bookable ticket for 10:54. It's an inexpensive Regionale train (no seat reservations on those) for a ticket price of just 10,50€ so I really don't think you need to purchase a ticket in advance. That price won't change between now and your trip.
i guess what was odd to me is that the 101pm train lets me actually purchase tickets where the 1054 train didnt.
and the 1152 didnt let me either. this is first time buying tickets so just a tad confused.
intercity, regional..all new to me. guess i need to read up on the differences and when to actually buy tickets ahead of time versus just walking up and buying a ticket
Both Trenitalia and ItaloTreno have easy to use apps
You might try using that when website is wonky
Get off at Tibertina, avoiding the long walk from the Termini platform to the exit.
Another option to use is Trainline for purchasing tickets. There may be a very minimal booking fee, but it is so easy to use.
