trenitalia app

I downloaded and registered the trenitalia app yesterday (and received an email confirmation with my username) and am trying to book ticekts today. When I go to the app login page and put in my information, a little circle spins for a while and then it just stays on the login page. It doesn't tell my my username or password are wrong or anything. I do have a strong wifi signal. When I tried for the fourth time to login I got a pop-up window with a red x at the top and the message "Attention! IMB WebSphere Application Server" and a red button at the bottom that says "Close."

Has anyone had similar troubles loging in to the app? If so, do you have any suggestions for me? (I'm worried about this not working once I'm in country even if I can get in somehow today.)

I got on my computer and was able to login just fine.

If I purchase tickets on my computer, will they show up in the app (if I can eventually get logged in)?

Hi
I am currently in Turin. I used the app to plan from the US and daily here with no issues. Did you get an email to confirm your account? As long as I log in via either computer or app I find the tickets in my account. I wish I had more help but as long as you confirm your account it should work.

Are you on WiFi? I have an ongoing problem with Cox WiFi and Trenitalia that denies access and won’t let me sign in. I don’t have another option on my old computer. BUT on my phone when I use cellular (Verizon) using Trenitalia app, I have no problem.

Sorry, I jumped ahead and didn’t see that you’re having problems with the app, not your computer. When I used Trenitalia two years ago tickets showed up in both app and website. I haven’t bought this year’s tickets yet. I do print copies just in case.

I’m in Italy for 2 months and use the trenitalia app a few times a week with no problems.

I’d delete it and try again.

Heidi,

If you continue to have problems with the Trenitalia app, you could also try using the Trainline app. They sell tickets for both major rail networks in Italy, as well as many other countries in Europe. You'll have to register on the site and provide payment details, but after that it's very user friendly. They may add a small surcharge, but I've never found that to be a problem. In my experience, the site very easy to use, and their customer service was very responsive if I had any questions.

Another thing you could try is to switch the WiFi "off" and use access the Trenitalia site via 5G. One of the websites I regularly use seems to have a problem with my home WiFi, but switching to 5G corrects the issue immediately.
