Trenitalia

Hey I was wondering if anybody knew the best way to get from Rome Airport FCO to Piazza Barberini. Train, cab, or bus? I could not find anything online.

Thanks!

Best way depends on what you want. Easiest is to grab a cab and be transported straight there from the airport. Otherwise take the Leonardo Express to Rome Termini, the jump on the metro and exit at the Barbarini Metro Stop.

The cab is 48 fixed, 4 people and luggage. Of course, the best way is always a driver and limo - contact Roma Cab.

Justin,

The "best way" will depend on your budget. If you have a generous budget, take a Cab direct to your hotel. If you'd prefer something a bit less expensive, take the Leonardo Express from FCO to Roma Termini (€14 PP, 32 minutes). From Termini you can either take a short Cab ride or take the Metro (Barberini is only two stops from Termini).

If you plan on using the Leonardo Express, you can buy your ticket at the airport rail station. Note that there are two train lines serving the airport, so be sure to board the correct train. Also, you MUST validate your ticket prior to boarding the train or risk hefty fines which will be collected on the spot.

You could also take a bus from Termini to Piazza Barberini, but the metro would be simpler (there are escalators).

If you're looking for the most economical route, take the airport bus from FCO to Termini (5 euro - about 1 hour) and then Metro line A from Termini to Barberini.

I thought the bus was 8 euro.

justin,

After a long international flight and being in a jet-lagged state, you'll probably find it much easier to take the Leonardo Express (32M) and then a cab direct to your hotel.

I've used the bus multiple times and have always been charged 5 euro at the airport ticket window, but I think you're right that the rack rate might be 8 euro.
