Does anyone know if its possible to ride a Trenino - Wine train on monorail - similar to the one on Rick Steve's video: Cinque Terre - Italy's Hidden Riveria? Thank you for any help you can give me?
They're not rides. They are working trains to bring the grapes down from the steeply terraced hills. But wouldn't it be fun if you could ride them?
bonnie, I'd be very surprised if you were able to ride a Trenino. AFAIK, they're only used during the harvest, and I'm not sure who you would even contact to ask about it. It's not an amusement park ride, and there could be liability issues? Good luck!
Party poopers ;-)
Thank you all for your responses! I had shown that video to my 18 year old niece, now that's one of the things she wants to do. When she's there she'll be so overwhelmed she'll forget all abut it!
I see these are also used extensively in the Mosel Valley where the vines are on some very steep hillsides.
