Trekking east coast of Italy in Spring.

I am a 62 year old trekker and for health reasons I had better stick to fairly flat terrain. I am currently walking the Via de la Plata. After I finish, I would like to continue to walk. What is the east coast of Italy like in March? I am thinking of starting in Apulia. I would welcome any advice.
