Travestere Accomodations

I am having trouble finding a suitable place in Travestere. We like a place with some charm, A/C(travelling mid May next year),
a good breakfast is a must. Budget would be 200Euros (280 Cdn)per night.
I have been searching online now for 2 days and have written a few places. Two of them want a deposit now, one non refundable if you cancel. ( This from an establishment that has been around for a long time).
This will be our 3rd trip to Rome and have previously stayed in the Santa Maria Maggiore area but would like something in Travestere. We are foodies and have watched Stanley Tucchi , Bobby Flay and Gaida on their food quests so this time a lot of searching out neat places for food, markets etc will be our quest. A few of the palaces as well, as we have seen most of the larger sites.
Any help would be appreciated.

In the budget range you mentioned I would recommend the Hotel San Francesco near the Ministey of Public Education and a short walk to Santa Maria in Trastevere. I have been there and I liked it. They have a nice roof bar with gorgeous views and they serve breakfast in the lobby in the morning.

I don’t know if it might be too early to book now for May, but the place fills quickly because it’s not super expensive and I also believe the Rick Steves’ tours use it, so inquire soon. I recommend it and it is also very convenient for public transport (tramway no. 8 to Piazza Venezia).

Roberto thank you so much. I did get a reply from them yesterday but their cancellation policy was a bit confusing, so in the mean time I did search for others.
I received a reply a few minutes ago to clarify my concerns and made a reservation.
I was amazed at how many hotels are booked for the dates I wanted. I have been there before in May albeit 8 years ago and had
no trouble booking but it was not in the Trastevere area.
I was glad to hear you have been there - makes me know I chose wisely.

We stayed at Arco dei Tolomei. It is a b&b so not as private as a standard hotel, but we enjoyed it! Great location.

How do you define ‘good breakfast’ and why not just go out to a local bar for the typical Italian coffee and pastry? When in Rome, do as the Romans do.
