Travelling to Verona/Venice late August

Afternoon all,

I am planning a suprise trip for three nights (unfair on grandparents any longer 🤣) for the wifes 40th. I am looking at one night in verona and going to the arena de verona to watch and opera then looking at train to Venice for two nights.

My question is:
1) is this doable without being rushed.
2) Verona first or Venice
3) 1 or 2 days in Venice or Verona.
4) anything helpful I've probably forgotten 🤣.

Kind regards
JB

The order you do it in will depend on your travel dates and the opera you want to see.

The Verona opera is certainly an experience (we saw Carmen).
It's worth noting that the opera will start at 9.30 pm, and will last longer than three hours with intermissions. You're expected to to arrive at least half an hour before.
Personally, I think it's worth buying arena seats rather than steps, as these are proper padded seats with backs.
You also have direct access to toilets.
It can also be delayed, or even cancelled, if it rains.

Given that three nights is only two full days, I think it would be a bit rushed to do both cities.

I'd just do Venice, and forget the opera. There is an opera house in Venice, and regular Vivaldi concerts in two other venues.

Do one or the other, but not both. With your limited time, trying to do both will short change both.
