How far and what are some options for traveling from the Treviso Airport into Venice?
I flew into Treviso a couple of years ago. Soon after we landed a bus into Venice was available. There was a separate charge, something like 5-6 Eu, and the bus took about an hour to the main bus station in Venice. From there you can walk or buy a vaporetto ticket and take the vap to your hotel. I liked the entire deal of flying from Paris to Venice, because I was able to get to my hotel in Venice at 1:30 pm that way. By train, I would have arrived exhausted after a long trip about 6 pm. Last year I took the train, missed my connection in Milan, and arrived in Venice after 8 pm.
Take the bus and then the Vapretto. Decide how much you will use the vapertto. My huband bought us as 2 day pass (48 hours). You can then use them as much as you want during your stay. The water taxis are expensive. We used it in the morning to make our connection to the airport and was quoted 90 eruo by our hotel, but was told 100 Euro by the driver because he had to pick us up early. It is then a 10 minute walk to the airport or there are vans waiting that charge an additional 10 Euro per person to save you the walk.
Marie must have meant Marco Polo airport not Treviso as you can't take a water taxi to or from Treviso.
