Travelling from Montepulciano to Florence

I am going to take the train from Montepulciano to Florence, and would just like to confirm the train stations. Am I travelling from the Chiusi Chanciano Terme to Firenze Campo Di Marte? Ultimately, I am trying to get to my hotel in historic center Florence. Once I get off at the Firenze Campo Di Marte station, would I need to get a bus/ taxi? Any input is greatly appreciated, thanks in advance,

Jason, Florence's most central train station is S.M. Novella. I wouldn't go to Campo Di Marte unless your hotel is in that area as it's sort of outside the SS67 "ring" that visitors most commonly stay within, although some do stay a bit south of the Arno as well.

What is the name/address of your hotel?

We are staying at the NH collection Firenze Porta Rossa. I believe it's pretty close to the Uffizi Gallery, so it sounds like the Santa Novella station would be best. I just found something on google that said it's only a ten minute train ride from Campo Di Marte to Santa Novella, is that correct? Thank you for info and help, I really appreciate it!

You will be some blocks away from the Uffizi but not a long walk, IMHO. You might want to take a look at where your hotel is on the map in relationship to everything else in Florence?

There's no need to go to Firenze Campo Di Marte at ALL: book trains which go to S.M. Novella as it'll be much closer to you. We could walk to this hotel but we're also used to dragging the bags over distances other folks are not. I'd recommend you take a cab so you're not having to figure out how to weave your way from the train station as there's no straight-arrow route to it (or many other attractions in this old city!)

Regional trains arriving in Florence from points south (e.g. Chiusi) generally stop at Campo di Marte station and then continue on to Santa Maria Novella station (SMN). There's no need to get off at Campo di Marte, as it's much further from your hotel. If you take an Intercity train, it will only stop at the Rifredi station and you'll need to change trains for the short ride to SMN. You can walk from SMN to your hotel in 10-15 minutes. Taxi is also an option but, by the time you wait in the taxi que and then take the ride, you'd probably already be there walking.
