Travelling by train from Tirano to Milan

On 5 May 2015 my wife and I will be travelling on the Bernina Express scenic train from St Moritz to Tirano. The train is due to arrive at 1:00pm. Directly after that we want to travel from Tirano to Milan on the regional train which departs at 1:10pm. Is this possible .... I mean with only ten minutes difference between the two trains. (we do not have tickets for the regional train because we believe that one cannot book for the regional trains in advance).

I would not count on it, but may be possible if you get real lucky. The Trenord station is across the piazza from the Rhaetische Bahn station. You'd need to be in the lead car and fly out the door and run.
More relaxing would be to have a nice lunch and take the 3:06 pm train.
I believe you can get a ticket online within 7 days of the departure.
Edit- I'm on the Trenord site now it it looks like I can buy tickets for May 5 now. They must be validated and used within 4 hours of the date and time on the ticket. So if you miss the 13:10, it is still good on the 15:06.

If the Regionale ticket is purchased on-line, then it is already validated, -- the four hour time limit. When you purchase on line your specific the start time so it would the 3 pm train and the ticket is valid for four hours. No addition validated needed. Beside the on-line ticket will not fit in the validation machine.

If you miss the 1 PM train you can drop your bags at the Rhb station, have lunch, and take the 3 PM train.
