Hello Everyone, My family is traveling to Europe for 9 days! WE will be in Rome for 3 nights, Venice for 2 and Naples for 3. Any best advice you can share? We will for sure pack very light. After reading Rick Steve's Italy 2013 and from experience, traveling light is the way to go. Also, is bringing a stroller good? or should i just let my son walk around and take a break?
any advice will be greatly appreciated. thanks much
Definitely take the stroller, if for no other reason than your toddler will not be able to stay awake for the hours you will probably be walking and touring. He may really like to nap in it. Also, bring any medications he may need, because many of the "over the counter" items here require a consultation with a doctor there. So bring your pediasure and tylenol, etc. just in case the little one gets a cold or something.
Three is an age where for most holidays i would say forge the stroller, I thought my kids were done with them by then, BUT, for a holiday to Europe, 'BRING IT. There is so much walking, , and to them, so many boring sites, they can sit and eat some snacks , nap, and its great for carrying stuff. Just make sure its sturdy enough for cobblestones. I also agree bring your kids regular meds, they have all same stuff there mostly, BUT, my experience is that kids get sick suddenly and at 2am, not the time you want to be trying to find an open pharmacy in some foreign country where you are not fluent in the language. I used to bring tylenol ( or simiar fever reducer, which ever one your child is used to ) , some pepto( or similar for upset tummy) , and some childs cold medicine ( stuff you have used before) Also two out of three of my kids got travel sick (boat, car , plane) so I brought Gravol for motion sickness , I am sure you have American equivelent.
Thanks so much ladies for the advice. will take note of meds to bring. didnt think of it much till now!!
