We will be dring from Rome to Positano for 4 night in September. I would like to get some recommendations on places to stay. Water views a must. Also looking at something with at least a 3-4 star rating. Maybe renovated. We will also have two cars we need to park as well.
Any recommendations ?

We stayed at the Hotel California in Positano in 2012 and had a wonderful experience. The family who ran the hotel were so friendly and helpful. Breakfast on the terrace had an amazing view of Positano and the Mediterranean. They have a small garage where our car was parked; we arranged this in advance. You would need to ask if possible for 2 cars. We did not have to pay for parking.
Don't miss the restaurant Scirrocco. Possible the best meal we've ever had and a lovely view from high in the mountains.

what amenities are you looking for in particular? The star rating in Europe is based on amenities that they have, one may have a restaurant and have a higher rating than one that doesn't, but that one may have nicer rooms...
I would also look into villas, if you had a villa company with an attentive manager, it could be just as enjoyable as a 4 star hotel with whatever amenities make up the 4 star category...
