I will be flying to Venice, Italy to go on a cruise to Greece, from the US.
I'm trying to find out if I will be ok to travel with loose tea bags (will have them all in a clear plastic bag) in my checked bag. I drink various teas daily for medicinal purposes. Will I run into customs issues by taking the tea bags in my checked bag? Thanks

No issues. Unless you actually intend to have marijuana inside your tea bags (marijuana looks similar to tea).

Just to add my experience -
I favor peppermint tea; especially in the Winter. I took some tea bags to Rome - twice, put them in a baggie along with some snacks. I carried them in my carry on. Not questioned.
