Traveling to Italy with prescribed Adderal

One of my family members (an adult) has been prescribed Adderal and takes it daily. Has anyone had experience (or any difficulty) with bringing this specific medication into Italy?
Will having the medicine in it’s original CVS bottle with prescription written on it be enough, or is additional paperwork needed?

No one is going to look at your medications. You do not need any paperwork. You do not need an original prescription bottle.

Technically, to bring a drug like Adderal into Italy, which they consider a narcotic, you have to have a special health certificate:

https://www.salute.gov.it/new/it/tema/medicinali-stupefacenti-e-precursori-di-droghe/medicinali-stupefacenti-al-seguito-dei/

(There is a pdf link in the above that states exactly what information needs to be on this certificate. It seems to me to be just a detailed prescription.)

Make sure this person only brings enough for the trip and a few days extra in case of travel issues.

While chances are no one is going to stop you at customs, if he is stopped and the drug is found he could get into trouble.

Ignore the "do whatever you want, nobody ever looks posts" Nobody looks until they do, you figure out what would happen if you are found to be carrying illegal narcotics.

I wish people would stop giving downright dangerous advice.

Follow Frank II's advice, follow the procedure. At the minimum, I would also have a letter from your Doctor, explaining why the medication was prescribed, the exact generic and trade name, and the dose.

Here are some other reliable sources of information.

While it is true that 'nobody is going to look' most of the time (in 60+ years of European travel no one has ever given my meds a glance) the stakes of being the exception that one time are big. It is prudent to have medical documentation for any drug that can be abused.
