Hello,

I will be in Italy for a month. I will be starting in Rome (want to visit Vatican and colosseum & food). Then to Pescara my base. Pescara to Pompeii (not sure never been please advise). Back to Pescara. Pescara to Venice (please advise ). Venice to Florence (please advise). Florence to Orvieto round trip. ( things to see and restaurants). Florence to Pescara. I would appreciate any help with best transportation, restaurants and things to see. Also if anyone knows of quick side trips from Pescara I love this area but it will be my first time having time to explore .

Thank you and have a wonderful day

Pescara may be your love, but you should stay there only the time necessary to visit the surrounding area (however long you wish), because Pescara is not well connected to the rest of Italy (the railways are not high speed there and there are huge mountains between there and the western side of the peninsula) and going back and forth to it will take an excessive amount of time. If you love it, stay there for a couple of weeks or whatever, but all in one shot.

I also Use the Rome2Rio website to research all my transportation options while in Europe and also The Man in Seat 61 which is just train travel which also explains the different trains, validation of ticket rules and how to get the best price and how to purchase. You may want to pick up a good guide book to figure out what you want to see in each place and websites like Trip advisor will have a "top 10" for each of the places you mentioned and then you can go to the websites for the places to understand open/close days and times and if reservations and advanced purchase is needed. As far as lodging you can look on Booking.com to checks prices and location then go directly to the hotel website to book.
