Traveling to Italy from Ukraine as an American Citizen

Hello this August I am planning on travelling to Europe with my first stop being in Ukraine. Afterwards I am hoping to travel to Italy but am unsure of what exactly is needed. I've read online that Americans are able to travel to Italy with a negative PCR/antigen test but everywhere I've read this they specify "when travelling from the US."

You can fill this form (updated and official) to now what you have to do: https://infocovid.viaggiaresicuri.it/index_en.html

I assume you are traveling for tourism.
Since you'll stay some days in Ukraine, you must do the 10-days quarantine when arrive in Italy. A swab before and after the quarantine is required.
After that, you are free to move in Italy.

The origin of your passport is of little concern when you are talking the spread of a disease. The main concern is where are you coming from, including within the past 14 Days, so the most restrictive requirements of the countries you were in will apply.

The only exceptions to passport origin are if you are a citizen/resident of the country you are entering or are part of a border sharing agreement with that country. Even then, you may be subject to testing and quarantine.

So in your case, Ukraine requirements to enter Italy apply, and possibly requirements if coming from the US, if you will be in the Ukraine for less than 14 Days.
