Traveling to Florence from US (connecting flights in LHR)

We are traveling next week from Dallas to Florence (connecting in London Heathrow). I have seen mixed options on whether or not we need to have an ETA in order to connect to our flight - We arrive in terminal 3 and have to go to terminal 5 to connect with our flight. It is one ticket not separate bookings.

Thank you for your help. Should I just spend the $10 bucks to get the ETA and not worry about it?

Hi,
There are buses that take you between terminals without going through immigration. You should not need the ETA if it's all on the same ticket since you won't pass through border control.
Have a great trip.

Put your flight information into this website and it will give you step by step instructions.

Basically you'll just follow the purple "Flight Connections" signs. No need to go through immigration. But you will go through airport security again. And Heathrow is strict.

You don't need an ETA for connecting flights where you don't go through immigration. They also cost more than $10 anyway. With the current conversion it's about double that. The price went up last month.
