Traveling to Cinque Terre

On Saturday, September 20 I am traveling with a friend from Lausanne to Cinque Terre. I have researched the routes and it appears that my best route is Lausanne to Genoa and then take a local train to Monterossa. If I understand it correctly I have only 5 minutes to make the local train after getting off the train in Genoa. Is that enough time - or is there a better route that involves fewer changes and less time ? Judy

There is an EC train leaving Lausanne at 8:18 that connects to an IC train in Milan to Monterosso with a 35 minute connection time. Gets to Monterosso at 15:03. 6 hours 45 minutes total journey time and only one comfortable connection.

Yes ! You are so right ! Thank you. I had tried Lausanne to Genoa and Lausanne to La Spezia but had neglected to put in Lausanne to Monterossa. Since we are staying in Monterossa that is ideal. LOVE THIS WEBSITE.
