I will be cruising on Royal Carribbean’s symphony of the seas in April and was wondering if anyone has taken a shopping excursion to a Castel Romano Outlets from the cruise port? If so, how did you get there?
Which cruise port?
Civitavecchia Port
I've not done it but would not even consider trying to do this as a day trip from a cruise. It is a long way from the port, isn't on a rail line, and shuttle bus reliability from Rome (yes, you'd have to go into Rome to catch it) is reported to be sketchy AT BEST; lots of complaints. In short, it's just much too risky if you don't want to miss your evening sailing time.
Private transfer would be the ONLY method I'd consider for this trip, and I'm sure it would be so expensive - because of the distance - that it would cancel out any potential savings you might expect to realize at the outlet (complaints about advertised low prices too).

Spend your day in Rome: lots to see, and a lot safer/less expensive than trying to pull this off.
