Traveling the Adriatic Coast of Italy in September

I have scoured the forum as well as internet for info on the Adriatic Coast and am finding that information is limited. I will be flying into Brindisi and have 4 days in Lecce, 4 in Vieste, 4 in Ancona and fly out of Venice. Have tons of info for Venice and have been there several times. Looking for tips in the other cities! I will have a car the entire time with the exception of Venice. Also curious if anyone has feedback on the drive itself. I have driven the Amalfi - is it comparable?

Any insight would be welcome!

Nothing like the Amalfi Coadt in most places, large areas are relatively flat.

Ancona is rather hilly; Pesaro is s nice city, smaller than Ancona.

Look at Michelin guidebooks for driving suggestions, Lonely Planet for details on cities.

You are going to the nicest areas:
Salento (near Lecce)
Gargano Peninsula (Vieste)
Mt. Conero peninsula (Ancona)

The drive is all straight freeways if you want. The roads in the Gargano and Mt. Conero has some curves, but not too bad.
