Traveling in Italy in November

Do I need to pre purchase museum tickets for places like the Uffizi, Academia and Leonardos Last Suuper in Milan? I thought it might be late enough on the season to purchase there.

Taking a chance on availability would be risky
Especially for Last Supper -there are rarely same day tix available

Depending on when in November you are traveling you may have already missed tickets to The Last Supper. It looks like they are completely sold for the week of Thanksgiving, which of course probably means LOTS of Americans are traveling during that time.

Here is the official website for booking tickets.

I did the English tour thru the museum itself in September and it was excellent. It was just 8E more than the admission ticket.

I'd go to the websites of the Uffizi and Accademia to check on what times are available during your visit. I did not have to book those tickets on my recent visit to Italy as they were included in the RS tour but be sure you go to the official sites. I had the Last Supper site bookmarked as the one that often comes up first on a googlesearch is NOT the official website. This one, thru VivaTicket, is.

I just got back from Italy ending in Florence last week. During the week, the Uffizi and Accademia were both light-ish. Buying tickets at the time was totally doable though I had purchased timed tickets beforehand for both. I walked by the Uffizi this past Saturday and the line was super long. My guess is that the line into the Accademia was similar. I've been to Florence 3 times in 3 different seasons over the past 15 years, the old city center is always a bit busy with tourists. Take it FWIW; I hope you are able to get into both museums. They are truly magnificent.

We arrived in Firenze on Sept 30. We purchased tix for Accademia that very afternoon, and for the Uffizi and other timed attractions on the next day. There were plenty of slots available. I would not be concerned about crowds in Nov. The Accademia was very crowded in the street outside the access, but once inside we had no difficulty seeing the various sights. Getting an unobstructed view of David was a matter of timing, howe
