I'm going to take the train from Salzburg to Zurich. Do I need an Austrian ticket for part of the trip and a Swiss ticket for the other part? How does it work?
Check with Rail Europe they can help you get your ticket.
I advise you not to use Rail Europe as your source. They can be expensive. Its actually easy. If starting in Salzburg you will actually travel in 3 countries. There is a section of "corridor" travel through Germany, though the train doesn't stop there. Any Austrian rail ticket office can sell you a through ticket to your destination of Zuerich. If you go to The Austrian railway website you can get information on advance purchase, non refundable much cheaper tickets. Clickon "English" in the top right corner.
