Hello,
I am traveling with my 18-year old daughter in a couple of weeks and we were wondering what the Rick Steves group thinks is the best way to get from Salerno to Naples with our suitcases? A train is obviously quick and easy, but would the ferry be a fun way to travel to Naples? Obviously it will take longer, but it seems to me it might be a scenic and fun way to spend a few hours. I haven't seen much on the forum. Would we need to buy our tickets ahead of time, and if so, what is the official site for purchasing ferry tickets? Thank you!
This may help.

The only problem with ferries is weather- related cancelations.
Have a great trip!
Long ferry ride
Are you then staying in Naples or will you need to get to train station or airport next?
Ferry schedule here, there are others

We're staying in Naples for several days.
You really don’t have to decide too much ahead of time
Both train and ferry are options, I doubt either would be sold out
( regional trains can’t sell out)
Wait to see what the weather is like- a 2+ hour ferry ride in the rain would be miserable;)
